So the singer/bassist of Girth, headliner at our recent show at Reggie’s commented that he thought my condensed drum set was cool. Condensed. Nice use of the word. The word shouldn’t be limited to milk. I’m ok with condensed. Now the only problem is that depending on the carpeting/flooring of the stage, my bass drum likes to inch forward as I play, sometimes even causing the kick pedal to unlatch from the edge of the drum rim. Uh, not so good. There have been times the bass drum was so far away from me that I couldn’t even kick it if I wanted to. So if anyone has a cinder block sitting around their yard, basement, or whatever (I won’t ask questions) please bring to the next gig. I’ll buy you a beer. The only other thing I need is one of those beer hats with the straw coming down that won’t fall off my head when I play, but I’ll fill it with ice, ice, ice cold water. Good luck with that one.

Hey party people -
As the people who know us the best and see us the most, we want your feedback. Give us the good, the bad, and the ugly. Tell us your favorite songs and your not-so-favorites. Tell us the things that work and the things that don’t. And punches need not be pulled – we can take it!
So email us, tell us in person, or leave anonymous notes on our cars – just don’t be afraid to let your opinions be heard! … Do you love Allen’s stoicism? Did Brian’s feedback melt your faces? Did my shirt make me look like an oompa-loompa? Are Shelly’s drums just the coolest setup you’ve seen in a while?
Let us know!

Thanks to everyone for coming out to Reggie’s on Saturday night. For those of you who couldn’t make it, the gig shared many characteristics with our previous performances: it started late; we went on second even though all the promotional material advertised that we were the opener; the other bands had nothing in common with us apart from the ability to speak English; and Kiri made fun of Brian for being a eunuch. Our show at Reggie’s(2105 South State Street) on Saturday night will be one hour later and free. We think that’s a pretty fair trade. If you disagree, we will go all John Maynard Keynes on you, and it won’t be pretty.
So, to recap then, Saturday night, doors open at 10:00. No cover. We will expect to see you there with your #1 foam fingers at the ready.
